I have looked at that but I don’t know how to install the mySQL database on 1and1….

Do you have a root or managed server? With the root server you set up MySQL db in the Plesk control panel. Managed I can’t help you with.

I think it must be managed ‘cos I don’t have a ‘Plesk’ control panel….
    anyone else got any ideas…
do i need to phone up 1and1???

Robswday, I’ve got four WordPress sites set up with 1&1. If you want to email me, maybe I can help you out?

One thought. If the managed servers work like their hosting account, there’s a MySQL Administration link under Websites & Applications.

… but only if you’ve got a “business” account with 1&1. the cheapest package doesn’t offer MySQL or PHP.

Actually, that’s not correct. I don’t have a business account with 1&1. Mine is a standard $4.99/month account, and it comes with PHP plus up to 25 MySQL databases.

But I’m still not able to get this stuff working, yet.
