Hi I hope you can help with my problem.

I’m using NextGen Scroll Gallery version 1.8.1 and NextGen Gallery 1.9.10

When I’m in my localhost the scrollGallery is working but when I uploaded it live it seems the shortcode [scrollGallery id=”6″] was not rendering or not showing. I’ve tried disabling all the plugins installed except Nextgen and scrollGallery and even change the theme to twenty eleven to see if my theme is the issue. But it seems there’s no problem with my theme.

By the way here are the list of plugins that I installed:

    1. Contact Form 7
    2. Advanced Custom Fields
    3. Jazzy Forms
    4. NextGEN Gallery
    5. NextGEN Scroll Gallery
    6. WP-Paginate
    7. WP-PostRatings
    8. WP-PostViews

You can view the sample link here

Let me know what you need for me to solve this problem thanks.

  • I’m having the exact same problem. Worked fine on my local server, but I get nothing on my live site. Have you figured anything out?

No I haven’t figure it out. I just used an alternative for this because of my deadline.

But I’m still waiting for support regarding this issue. I hope they can help us with this because I want to use this plugin for future projects if ever I encounter this again.

So, I just got it work. It wasn’t pretty though. The problem I guess is somewhere in the install of either NextGen, the scrollGallery, or both. The best thing would be is to just not install them until you’re on the server your going live with….BUT…

What I didn’t try, was just uninstalling nextgen scrollGallery and reinstalling it. What I did was I just totally uninstalled them both, including all the nextGen db tables (go to uninstall in nextGen options).

I didn’t delete the gallery folder or any photos in my wp-contents folder.

    Then I re-installed them both.

Here’s where the work came in, and I’m not sure if I did some of this unnecessarily or not…

I recreated the galleries I had. Not a big deal if there were only a couple…I had over ten. That created new galleries in my nextgen gallery folder. I moved all the photos from the old gallery folders to the new ones using cyberduck (I didn’t move the thumb folders…they get recreated easily anyway)

Then, back in my nextgen dashboard, under manage galleries, I went into each gallery, reassigned it to the page, made sure the folder name was correct, saved, then hit the “Scan Folder For New Images” button so it would reconnect all the images I already uploaded and create new thumbnails.

After doing that for all your galleries, change the scroller settings back to whatever you had, and as long as you didn’t remove the shortcode from the original pages, it will work.

Stupid. And I still don’t know why. I’m guessing it’s a thing with the DB tables. Even though everything else works, maybe I didn’t do something right in transfering it from my local server to the live server. Again, the best thing in the future, and what I’ll be doing from now on is, wait until the site is in it’s final place, THEN add the galleries and scroller.

Hope this helps anyone else in this dilemma in the future…
