Apostrophe ' in caption breaks the plugin background

I’ve tried putting a caption containing a single quote in the WP gallery Image caption field, and it breaks the slideshow!
Single quote happens a lot in french. Could you please tell how to clean the output? ' works but it would be better.
Example : “L’image”
