• Yeah eh!

    Just upgraded to 2.0.

A new feature is thumbnail previews of the themes in the /wp-admin/themes.php for available themes.

Default, and Classic show the thumbnail previews. Third party themes do not.

How can I resolve this to show the preview. This would be helpful.

    Cheers

  • You would need to create a screenshot image named screenshot.png and place it in the theme’s directory.

As theme creators develop for 2.0 specifically, you should see more of them including that thumbnail.

Take a screen shot and save it as screenshot.png to the folder where the theme lives. The supplied themes use 300×225 images.

    –UPDATE:
    Dang, too slow.

The thumbnails are just an image file located in the themes directory. Some third-party themes designed/upgraded for 2.0 will have this included. If not, you can do it yourself.

To create it, create a thumbnail called screenshot.png in the themes directory.

You guys are WAY too fast for me. lol

Do I win a prize for speed? ??

If you don’t mind doing a simple resize, here are the steps I followed in creating screenshot.png for various themes:
