Plugin stopped working?

    I use WordPress 3.4.2 (Polish ver.) and have an updated Skype Online Status plugin to ver. 2.8.6. My theme is heavily modified NoLimit. PHP ver. is 5.2.17 and MySQL ver. is 5.1.57.

    About two days ago the plugin worked fine. Then, yesterday in the early afternoon (GMT +1) I noticed that there is no image, no button at all and the status gives Error message.

    I ma sure that my Skype username is coorrect as well as have “Allow my status to be shown on the web” turned on. Also, I am always online.

    Check the sidebar of https://www.poprostupodroz.com under KONTAKT / SKYPE section, please. Any idea, what could have happened? Besides i noticed, that as FAQ recommends it, I cannot open the website mystatus.skype.com/poprostupodroz.com. Could it be the Skype servers problem?

  • I just upgraded to WordPress to 3.5 and the online status balloon has has disappeared. Even the status is in error. I checked my skype settings and all other settings. No change there. Is this a problem with compatibility?

    All other plugins seem to be working fine.

    I have the same problem, i can see the status displayed correctly in plain text with the broken image icon, what to do?

    @rupertone: I am as surprised as you are of your discovery, since I have done exactly nothing about the Skype status for last few days. I didn’t even notice the change before you informed me about the fact. It just has mysteriously came back on its own, same way it broke during the weekend.

    Although the image came back, the status is invalid (unconnected) as I am online. I think I will wait a little bit more to see if the plugin did fix itself somehow.

    It was Skype’s status server at https://mystatus.skype.com/ which has been down for a while. In fact, it still seems unstable…

    All buttons have suffered this issue, not just the ones provided by the WordPress plugin. I do hope Skype aims to fix this properly.

    Notably: the true status is not served anymore, just the status image… This results in some queries by the plugin to the Skype server being answered with an Internal Server Error.

    I cannot find any info by Skype that they aim to drop support for this (only a lot of posts on the Skype forums about these errors) so I guess we’ll just have to wait until it is fixed. Or until I know more about what they are going to do.
