    Hi

I’m trying the plugin on my website but during test listings I am getting the following issues,.

Image files are not being recognised.
This could be because I’m using wordpress 3.5 and ther was a few changes to the way wordpress handles images that might not be compatable with the plugin. I’ve tried uploading both jpg and gif images and both are returning as
?Uploaded file is not an image
are you using the code in utils.php to validate image tpye?

The second issue is that I’ve tried to use the recaptcha option but everytime I try to answer the words I keep getting that it is being filled in incorrectly – depsite trying many times and taking extra care with inputting the text.
I’m not too worried over that one as I can easily drp in my own anti spam form but the image upload is a concern.

    thanks
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

WE haven’t completed 3.5 validation yet, so this could be a new issue. Any chance you can try it on an older version for comparison?

Is this on Windows or Linux?

Which version of BD are you running?

Can you show screenshots of what you see (and where you’re doing it from)? That would help for both reCAPTCHA and the image issue.

    Hi

I’m about shut down for the night so I’ll try the plugin on one of my other sites tomorrow.

I’m using windows 7 on the pc and the site is on a linux server.

I assume i’m running the laterst version of BD as I only just downloaded it through my dashboard so it’s is the stable version.

You can try the image upload by adding a listing at https://wildlifenews.co.uk/wildlife-holiday-directory/

The recaptcha is not switched on at the moment. I’ll try it again tomorrow on a previous wordpress version in case that’s it.

    thanks

    Hi

This is definately a wordpress 3.5 issue.

Everything owrked ok on one of my older wordpress sites and then I upgraded to wordpress 3.5 and the recapture stopped working and the image file type stopped being recognised.

    Thanks

I just went to visit your site and the Business Directory seems to be deactivated. Is that intentional?

I need to know the combination of things to show this problem–can you provide that?

    Hi

I’ve reactivated the plugin. I have not switched on the recaptcha so you can take a look at the image issue first.

When you want the recaptcha module switched on please let me know.

    thanks

    Hi Kevin,

I believe we may need admin credentials to look into this further. I do see the behavior you’re talking about, but it’s not matching the behavior on our test sites with 3.5, so it’s probably environmental.

Can you send those via the contact form?

Please include a link to this thread for context. Thanks!

    Hi

I’ll send the details to one of my low traffic sites that have the same problem if you want to have a look around.

I’m not sure whether it could be a theme issue. After you said about you getting it to work on your test site I tried installing the plugin on one of my site that just uses a child theme of 2010 and there was no problems with wp3.5

I’m working my way through plugins but I think it could be a theme problem.

This is odd–seems to be Jetpack, and we’re getting another conflict report from AWPCP as well. That’s not a coincidence, it’s either a changed API, something in WP 3.5 or a bug in Jetpack, as both my plugins couldn’t have bugs at the same time, considering they are different codebases.

    We’ll look into this.
