NOTHING WORKS with 3.5

  • I am unable to type in the New Post page except for the Title. Nothing works, even moderating comments is difficult and I cannot reply to my readers comments. The media button does not work and none of the Tools show up at the top of the New post section.

    I have read thru the help suggestions in the other posts but am clueless as to how to do any of them. Can someone please do this for me? I have no one here who can help me and now my blog is totally useless to me.

    Readers can still comment on older stories, but I can add nothing new.

    I would like to go back to the version before 3.5 but don’t know how to do that either.

    PLEASE HELP ME!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Twelve theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I will try that. But what do I do if/when I find a problem plug-in later?

    You’ll need to leave that plugin deactivated and try contacting its developer directly to see if s/he will be releasing an update to solve the problem.

    Can I pay somebody at WordPress to fix my site? I can’t do anything to fix it. I am clueless. I use Safari. Can anyone help me?

    Where you able to try any of the steps suggested by esmi – if not, which part did you have difficulty with?

    I paid someone to fix the problems. It took 7 hours. Can I send WordPress a bill?

    WordPress is free software. What are you going to do? Ask for a refund…? ??

    Why don’t you knock off the attitude. We are all a little stressed out from the upgrade.

    We are all using our “free” time… haha esmi… to help others here who are experiencing issues… why? Because we are people who LIKE to help.

    Be nice… and your help queries will be MUCH better received. Use sarcasm… and you’ll never receive any help… unless you pay for it… and you already know what that feels like!

    try switching on the the java debug. I did this and it fixed the missing tools on the New Post page

    OK I have read all the questions and answers but am still clueless. I do not know how to deactivate my plugin’s or anything else eami suggested. I can post on my site but when I reply to my reader’s comments, I get –
    “opps looks like you answered the security question incorrectly”. This is after signing in with my correct pswd, user name and security ?. I log in and sign in again and nothing seems to help. Can anyone help me? I don’t want my readers to think I am ignoring them! Thanks for your time and help!
