    Jetpack Mechanic ??

We are currently working on a fix to avoid such issues. We will release a new version of Jetpack as soon as the fix is ready.

Will you also be fixing the problem I have, where Facebook shows a blue “Gravatar” instead of the featured image?

@rubious Can you post your site URL so I can have a look?

I’ve started a support request with JetPack.me and posted a URL there, I’d rather not put it on a public forum thanks.

I have the same problem with the blue ‘Gravatar’ being posted on Facebook.

On my website’s facebook fanpage I was able to change the gravatar by changing our WordPress.com gravatar, but when the posts show-up on normal timelines away from the fanpage the blue gravatar shows-up again.

It would be MUCH better to let us specify the avatar for use by publicize instead of it taking a wild guess as to what it should be.

For an example see this link.

i’ve also noticed the same issue on our facebook page

    https://www.facebook.com/Takuchat

    our site is

    https://www.takuchat.com/

I would like it to simply show the featured image…

How can we be notified when this issue is resolved? Currently I am also experiencing the gravatar posted on Facebook instead of the Featured Image.

I am running Nginx, Varnish, PHP-FPM and W3 Total Cache.

I have verified that if I post the link on Facebook manually, the correct post information is displayed.

Now both our fanpage and posts in the timeline both have the blue gravatar.

Please Jeremy, if you could just put an upload button/url field (like many other settings in WordPress) so we can specify our own avatar/logo to be shown by Publicize when it can’t figure-out the featured image for a post. This would at least solve this problem for the time being.

When I have a featured image, it works fine. If there is no image, it posts my gravatar to my FB page. Even when another administrator links to the facebook page through wordpress, it STILL posts my gravatar image.

I would prefer the default to be NO IMAGE if there is not one in the post.

Or, if it would pick up the open graph tag that I have which specifies a default image for facebook shares. This does work when I share to FB directly from the post.

Could you all update to the latest version of Jetpack, 2.0.4? We have made some changes to make sure the Featured Image is correctly used by Facebook.

If you don’t use Featured Images, we search for images within your post to use on Facebook. If you didn’t insert any images in your post, we will look for your Gravatar indeed. And if you didn’t specify any gravatar, then no image will be displayed.

Guys the fix is nice, but it still defaults to my personal gravatar when it doesn’t find anything else. this is NEVER appropriate for me, since i manage clients with my personal account!

@benny I have forwarded your feedback to our developers, and we will consider adding this feature to a future version of Jetpack.

    Thanks for your feedback.

After the update i still have the same issues.

    my blog is https://www.vridos.nl
    facebookpage is: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Vridos/502236073133875

it is showing my personal gavatar (i think it could also be my facebook picture because that is the same)

    Thanks in advance.

Same problem here! Sorry to ask for fix during the holidays! We really need that Gravatar image to go away.

On December 11, Facebook started posting blue default Gravatar image on our Publicize-posted Posts: JCDemsWV

Tried blocking the image on Facebook; didn’t work. Tried –defensively — creating a Gravatar image of our Facebook Profile picture with the email address we created for the Facebook page, but couldn’t get that to connect.

Anyone know of the best plugin to automatically publicize posts on facebook and/or twitter?
