link to an authors custom post types

I’m using BP on a directory site and I’m not sure if this is a wp or bp issue but I am trying to link to an authors custom post types on a search results page. i.e. see more items from this user. However I’m struggling to generate the link. Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to build up the link dynamically i.e. get author username, add site url and custom post type slug, or a better way of doing it?
