Gallery Thumbnails not resizing

Under Gallery Options I tried setting my slideshow default size to 300×250 and the photos still come out gigantic. Then I tried resizing them in the gallery, but again, although it says they are resized in the gallery itself, when I go to the page they are still gigantic.
