• I just moved my blog from OLDBLOG.wordpress.com to blog.NEWBLOG.com and have updated the wordpress profile application in linkedin accordingly.

Unfortunately the latest posts from my NEWBLOG does not show on the linkedin application, it seems to still be using the OLDBLOG url even when set to NEWBLOG. The post shows perfectly on my RSS feed so it is a problem with the application.

After various back and forth with linkedin I received the following:

We do host that application on our platform; however, our partner, WordPress has asked to provide the primary support for their product. Please use the contact information below to contact them directly. I’m certain they will be able to provide the most current information about this application.

  • What feed url are you entering into LinkedIn?

It asks for WordPress blog URL so I added my new blog at https://blog.NEWBLOG.com, but it still lists posts from https://OLDBLOG.wordpress.com. I have a feeling it is caching the old blog..

How long ago did you make the change?

I’ve made the change several times, including just now. In all cases it reverts to OLDBLOG. I even tried setting it to someone elses blog (which worked) and then setting it to NEWBLOG (which showed the posts from OLDBLOG)

    What is your site’s url?

The old blog was https://jamesrossiter.wordpress.com and the new blog URL is https://blog.jamesrossiter.co.uk. I am using a paid-for redirect on the old blog to point to the new one.

Exactly the same thing is happening for me. It’s pulling from my old blog instead of from my new (redirected) blog. Very frustrating. Anyone have a fix for this?

So it looks like there is no support for this from LinkedIn and little from wordpress. If psharbaugh is having the same issue then it’s clearly not a one-off.

I just got an e-mail that LinkedIn is discontinuing WordPress in the profiles.

For reference, the email I also received:

On December 11, 2012, you’ll be getting the new LinkedIn profile, which has a simplified design, provides deeper insights, and surfaces new ways to connect and build relationships. You’ll also be one of the first to preview a new way to showcase rich content on your profile — like presentations, videos, documents, and more.

Now there are more ways than ever to tell your professional story on LinkedIn, and we’re excited for you to try them out. As we roll out these changes, we’ll also be streamlining our app offerings, so the following LinkedIn apps will no longer be supported on the homepage or profile as of December 11:

    ? WordPress
You can find out more about these changes on our Help Center.
We hope you like your new LinkedIn profile!
    Thanks,
