Adding Groups of Categories

Hello, just wondering if there’s any easy way to display categories relative to their parents? My site is set up to allow users to search posts in 3 different parent categories. I’d be great if I could also give users who are submitting posts the ability to choose categories under these parent categories as there are over 200 categories combined and it doesn’t make sense to display them all under 1 drop down menu.
