Hi not sure if this will help – I am not a developer – just a WordPress user, but I recently used this plugin on a responsive wordpress theme. I overcame the issue by specifying the size of the map as a percentage (therefore scalable) rather than as actual pixel width dimension. Now the map resizes to whatever the size of browser or device.
Try it out – good luck.

It does, however the vertical% is now very small. What I’ve done is set the horizontal to 100% and then a fixed variable to default to 325 so that it doesn’t get too large on a mobile device.

Would love to have the map auto center on mobile as well, but perhaps the developer will see this and help out as well. Thank you for your suggestion!

Responsive is the future, and we’re designing all our sites to do so. In addition, it’s within Google best practices.

Also: This plugin doesn’t seem to be working in IE9. Can anyone verify that please? This is becoming annoying. Thanks!

Hi, yes sorry I should have mentioned I only made the width scalable, and kept a fixed vertical height, in my case that was 240 px.

Sorry can’t help with the IE 9 problem – hope someone else picks this up for you.

MajX: Is it working in your IE browser?

Hi jhawkins, sorry but I am a total Mac user (designer), been using a Mac for 20 years! I just booted my old copy of Windows XP professional in VMWare Fusion, and it has IE 8, because IE 9 would not run on windows XP. Safari, Chrome and Firefox all seem to run nicely in XP.

I know its no help at all but the map works nicely in IE 8!
Sorry I can’t help you on this one. Have a scout around the forum, there must be some reference / documentation somewhere on here about IE9.

    Good luck.

Yes, if you specify the width as a % then normally that should work.

This plugin has width defined as % as a default (you can override it) also detects mobile devices and links the directions via a big button.

    hello!

So I believe there is no way to set the HEIGHT of the map as 100% of its container, right?

I managed with the width, but just can’t do it with the height! I have the container setup and working…

Any hints on how to achieve 100% height???

    Thanks!!
    Daniel
