Meteor slideshow with Responsive Theme

I am using responsive them and trying to have a meteor slideshow to replace the image on the middle part of the home page.

The slideshow appears on the page and works well, but the size is limited down to the H2 line regardless of the values I put in the meteor slideshow definitions.

Any idea how I can make it larger.
