    I posted a few minutes ago, but the post did not appear here for some reason. I cannot edit my website (sbranch.org). I sign in and click remember me. Then when I go to a page and click edit this I am told (correctly) that there is an autosave that is newer than the one I see. When I click on view autosave, it jumps out of edit mode and I am back to my home page and not signed in. Signing in again just cycles back through the whole process. Furthermore, if I select another page and try to edit it, when I click update, after a couple seconds of apparently trying to update the page it jumps back to the sign-in page. Signing in again does not help. Rebooting the computer does not help. Using another computer does not help. When I try to review pages from my dashboard, I can hit the double forward mark to get to the final pages (screen 252) but I cannot then hit the back mark to get to screen 251. If I do so, it jumps immediately to my home page or my admin sign in page (I don’t remember which).

    You need to go into your admin dashboard

    I have maintained this website for several years. I realize that I have to use my admin dashboard to edit. The problem is that after I edit (or try to bring up the autosave) it immediately jumps out of edit mode. I think there might be a bug in v. 3.4.2. I have never seen this problem before.

    Also, when I try to see my plugin list (to deactivate them to see if this is causing the problem) it jumps out of the dashboard and my home page appears, and I am again signed out, despite the fact that I clicked remember me when I signed in.

    I kept getting sent back to the admin sign in page also. I only saw it after editing the Child Theme (Enterprise) with the Genesis Framework. Over and over. If I cancelled out of the Child Theme, I could still edit in Genesis. Very strange.

    @descro: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread with a question of your own and it causes significant problems for the forum’s volunteers. Please post your own topic.

    @geraldisaacs: Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    My most recent plugin is: Plugin Name: Automatic Sign Out For Inactivity
    When I try to deactivate the plug in I cannot do so because as soon as I click on anything when I am signed in I am kicked out of edit mode and return to the home page, signed out as admin. Can you advise me how to deactivate the plugin by an alternate methos, e.g. by using FTP and deleting appropriate files? I am not very savvy regarding this issue.

    Edited: I cannot switch to twenty eleven theme; I am immediately kicked out of edit mode when I try to do so. Can you can give me more specific instruction re resetting the plugins folder by FTP I would much appreciate it.

    PS I also get hover popups when I try to type info in this forum even though I have run Malwarebytes Antimalware.
