• I would like to know how I can get my website in a way so that when you land on it, its not the actual blog that’s on the first page, but rather another page.

Here’s two examples of what I’m looking for:

    https://www.ndoherty.com/

    and

    https://onestep4ward.com/

You can see from the above websites that you have to click on the “blog” tab in order to see the blog itself.

My website: https://www.nextstopwhokows.com just goes straight into the blog. So that the home page = the blog page and vice versa.

Can anyone link me to a tutorial and otherwise which tells/shows me how to change my set up to achieve this.

    P.s I’m using Thesis theme.

Thanks for any help, it will be greatly appreciated.

  • I have the same issue and would also like to know how to do this.

Current Theme: Piano Black By mono-lab Version 2.2
    My website: https://www.bossmustangownersassociation.com/

Thanks in advance for your help.

In your main admin area, go to this menu item:

    Settings -> Reading

On that page, set your front page to be a static page. That’s all there is to it.

Thanks michael. I see how that works now!

Do you know any good tutorials on how to style a static page? I’m not that good with HTML(hence the thesis theme) so any youtube video links would be great if you know of suitable ones for me to check out!

Any info on how to go about styling/creating a homepage? I presume html would be the only way to do so??

Depends on what you want to do. A lot of styling is done in the CSS code. If you are not familiar with how that works, I’d suggest looking up some YouTube videos on CSS or checking out this basic reference site:
