• During the last two years, I have tried a lot of kinds of blogware, most OSS. Most worked pretty well. However, I also run a group website and want to offer blogs. Besides the basics I need two things:

    1. Multiple blogs from the same database. (Several good blogwares have this)

    2. Easy, normal-use multiple image inclusion. I have no idea what the creators of most blogwares were thinking when they designed their “image managers.” Who cares about managing their images? Who even uses images they put in their blog more than once? I’m sure the need exists, but no one I know does. What big app most people are used to does that? Most (e.g. MS Office products, OpenOffice.org, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, Mail, etc, etc, etc.) have you select a spot to put in an image, browse for the image, perhaps choose some options for the image, then click “insert”. Blogger does this, why doesn’t any OOS blogware do it, too?

Now I really hope I haven’t, in my built up frustrations of fruitless searching for over a year and a half, insulted the developers of this wonderful piece of blogware, because it is awesome. I just wished it did what I needed.

Can anyone PLEASE prove me wrong? I really want to offer my group the option to host their blogs, but they won’t move if it’s difficult and a pain. Perhaps if WP won’t work, someone knows another free blogware that will?

    Thanks.
