Create a slideshow – plug-in advice please
-
Hi – this is my first post so treat me gently ??
I have some specific requirement for a slideshow and wonder what the best way of achieving this would be?
Requirements:
The slideshow is of course created from multiple image but I would like to show only one on the post. The user enters the slideshow by tapping the single image.
The slideshow is manually advanced, by clicking the image (or tapping it on a mobile device) – it is supposed to function as a tutorial
The images are accompanied by some form of navigation buttons to aid those for whom clicking/tapping the image is not an obvious thing to do
The slideshow takes over the whole screen, but there is an obvious ‘close’ button to return to the post.
The slideshow works just fine on iOS devicesI have achieved some of these things with a variety of plugins but not all. For example, NextGen gallery can create a slideshow of multiple images with only one showing on the post, but retains ‘pagination’ which I don’t want or need to see
Gallery Carousel without Jetpack seems to give the right kind of experience but I don’t seem to be able to make this function from anything but a standard WP Gallery post that shows all the thumbnails.
Hosting the images on slideshare then embedding in a post gives the right kind of control, but doesn’t work well on iPad – probably the theme I am using?Your recommendations and advice will be extremely helpful – I am obviously pretty new to this so plugins rather than coding is probably the way to go for me.
Thanks in advance
