Hosting company has disabled web site due to "permanent server process"
-
Hi,
I installed WordPress 3 days ago and immediately had problems with timeouts on the admin screens. The CGI script provided by my hosting company included the Akismet, Hello Dolly and JetPack plugins. I deleted the latter two but left Akismet deactivated and managed to get to the point where the Better WP Security was installed and activated (the only other plugin, Akismet, was not activated) with Theme Twenty Eleven. I was configuring Better WP Security when things went wrong with the server. My host has now disabled the web site though I still have FTP access. The issue appears to be with a permanent server process (see below). Permanent server processes are against my hosting company’s T&Cs.
Could this have been caused by the server problems? Or by Better WP Security? Can anyone advise what to look for to try and track down the cause of this problem? Are there (m)any plugins that might create permanent server processes that I should avoid in the future?
Thanks

We have detected that your hosting package (…) is running a permanent server process.
This is a process which runs continuously rather than running only in response to web site hits. This may indicate that your site has been compromised, in which case it may be distributing viruses and/or attacking other sites on our servers.
Permanent server processes are against our terms, so scripting has been disabled on this package, but FTP remains enabled.
Please update this ticket once you have resolved this issue, we can then re-enable this website. If you need advice on how to resolve the issue, please ask.
