• So I am just delving into this and would like to first say thank you for reading and then to apologize for my lack of understanding here.
    Here is my issue/question.
Have a standalone Ubuntu box running WP. Able to get WP installed and running. Have multisite enabled and set up. My issue is that when I go to add my second site things break.
My default URL is https://kappeshome.com/wordpress/ . This works all day long. When I add a second site I get the prompt to add new site and since I have network setup for subdirectories it prompts me for subdirectory and user info. I do this and click add.
It adds the site but I swear, I can’t get to it and the path/url looks all malformed. For example. I add a subdirectory “MRD” on the add new site page. Once it’s added I get this:
Firefox can’t find the server at kappeshome.comwordpress_kappesmrd
I see that there is a / missing between com and wordpress but where is the kappes coming from and also see no /between the two of them. Any help would be appreciated immensely. I have been bouncing my VM back to a snapshot over and over and keep getting the same thing.

  • unable to understand.. is this your first site after creating network, or the second (as in, 3rd site including main)?
navigate to : my sites – network admin – sites
click ‘edit’ on new site and check if ‘path’ is proper.. and also siteurl and home..
    recheck htaccess btw..
