    Hi all,

    I’m new to WordPress and am just setting up a site (https://the-wolf-and-i.com/) using the Pinboard theme.

    I’ve been modifying a few things with a child css, but I cannot figure out how to reduce the padding around the header so that the title and search function are closer to the top of the page, while also reducing the gap to the menu options below.

    I’ve had a look at other topics but can’t seem to find anything that works. If anyone has any suggestions or can help in any way I’d really appreciate it.

    Thanks, Mike

  • You can change the line-height property for #site-title, #site-description. Currently it is set to 150px;

    Hi JungleSpace,

    Thanks for your reply!

    You’re right – the #site-title, #site-description tag moves the header/main title closer towards the top of the page. But the search/social media icons didn’t move with it, nor did it bring the menu bar higher either.

    I had a bit of a play and found I needed to adjust the #social-media-icons tag and the #header #searchform tag. With both of these I reduced the margin to 20px and added a padding-bottom at 10px.

    Cheers, Mike

    Hi Mike,

    I’m trying to do something similar with my site https://www.bedouindelights.com.

    Can you advise how you got the social media icons to be incorporated with the logo?

    Cheers.
