• Hi,
I am trying to move wordpress from one host to another with same URL. My problem is that I don’t have access to my old wordpress database. I only have access to the files (Blog folder). I am using godaddy as a new host and I installed wordpress which gave me that Blog folder and new database. Is there a way to copy only that Blog folder from my old WordPress and attach it to the new (empty) database on the new host?

    Thanks!

  • I’m sorry but all of your old site’s content is stored in your old database. Do you have any database backups?

All I have is FTP and wp-admin access to the old blog. I don’t have phpMyAdmin access. Although I hava access to the old wp-config.php and I can see username and pass for the database I am not sure how to access it as I don’t have phpMyAdmin url. Is there any way I can make backup using those methods have access to?

    Thanks!

All I have is FTP and wp-admin access to the old blog.

Then use Tools -> Export to create a export file of your old content followed by Tools -> Import on the new site to import your old content.

even if you dont have phpmyadmin access you can still backup the database via plugins…. wp complete backup can do the job… same with a lot of other backup utilities..

make your whole site backup and restore it to your new server

this works most of the time for me..

except for some cases like url change or hosting folder structure difference.

For some reason I can not manage to backup database. I tried at least 5 different tools for backing up database from WP admin. Does anyone wants to do this for me. Of course, work will be compensated!

    Cheers
