Page Navigation problem – all pages redirect to homepage

Hello!

I’ve been struggling with this problem for a couple of days and I got to the point where I thought I’d ask for help.

I am trying to build an ecommerce website using freshshop theme and jigoshop plugin, but I’ve ran into this problem and I can’t get past it. I’ve setup my homepage to be the shop page and display 12 products. Having entered more than 12 products 2 more pages were generated which use the wp-pagenavi plugin. The problem is that no matter which of the 2 newly generated pages I try to access they get redirected to the home page. The problem does not appear on category page navigation.

I must emphasize that it is clearly a redirect, as when I try to open them in a new tab, the new page url is displayed until the page loads and then it changes back to the home page url. I am using the default WordPress .htaccess file. I cannot provide a link because I am developing it using XAMPP (had no problems with it on the other 20-or-so wordpress sites I have developed).

It’s also probably a theme problem, because I’ve switched back to TwentyEleven and tried Sommerce theme as well and the problem was gone.

The problem is also gone when I use the default WordPress permalink structure.

I’ve tried, with no success:
– bypassed wp-pagenavi and used the jigoshop page navigation system;
– updated to the latest wp-pagenavi plugin version;
– changed the pagination permalink from /page/ to /pagina/;
– used several versions of .htaccess;
