Up and working but a couple question

  • I’m using this as an e-commerce site on my own domain. Slowly I’m kind of struggling my forward by searching forums like crazy. Right now I’ve run into a few questions I can’t find answers for. I’m using theme zeeCorporate.

    1. I want to make the first page when to go to my site about my business and about my products. Where would I do that? I tried doing a post, but when I did that, it posted a date and at the bottom and something about an uncategorized subject and also had an edit button and a reply. None of which I want.

    2. Where your are at an item, you will see the breadcrumb option. If you click on Products Page it takes to a page that has errors. Is there something I need to do?

  • You need to start from scratch,understanding posts, categories and pages, widgets and navigation.

    Read the documentation dear. The easy way is to get it done by someone if you dont have time

    1. First page >your business
    2. Second page> your products
    3. Define Categories
    4. Administrators have editing capabilities of content.

    Now, we take out precious time to support the problems in which users try to do something and go wrong, therefore please read the documentation as well.

    Solution.

    Login to dashboard
    Appearances>themes>preview your theme> use landing/static page.
    You can create any page via Pages>add new to create page for your business

    You need to have a site layout designed so that it makes users easy to navigate

    You can add new category (Eg. Assorted, Pet)as you have done with shopping cart and add details by going to Posts>Add new and writing something about your product.

    Regards

    1) Create a new page (not a post, I would give it a title “Home”. You should be able to enter your content in this page without having the metadata appear (date,author etc).
    2) Load the page in as a static page see Static Page
    3) Create a new page with “Blog” as the title. Use the default template for this page. You don’t need to enter any content here as all your blog material will show up on this page.
    4) Go to Appearance => Menus and set up your menu if not already set up. Add the “Home” and “Blog” pages to your menu. See Menus

    Thank you! I’ve been doing nothing BUT reading for the past 4 days from the time I get up til the time I go to bed, no lie! I have added information by following documentation, videos, previewing, changing, modifying until I’m exhausted and when that doesn’t work I come to the forums and do searches. Not all of it makes sense.

    I’ve never used any blog software before and I don’t think I’ve done too bad for what I’ve got accomplished. I guess a lot of problem is I assumed a lot of functions in the dashboard didn’t pertain to what I’m doing I guess because I’ve installed e-commerce plugin, for that I apologize.

    I appreciate your time to answer my questions, they helped, now hopefully I’ll be able to get some more done.
