    Crawlers interpret the html code and are not bound by elements visually blocking other elements. It shouldn’t have a negative effect om how a search engine ranks your content or on how a search engine sees the context of your website.

    Make sure that you set a delay, because one element that is affected is the live preview on google. Setting a delay will make sure users wich check the live preview will not get scared away

    Even with the delay of 1000ms google is still displaying the live preview with with ligthbox.
    Furthermore the text being indexed as more important than the rest of the content.

    The pages of one of the blogs that deploy this plugin displaying the line:
    “You need to sign in to vote for the post. You need to sign in to see this post. Facebook. Lost your password?” before the actual text of the page, as seen here:
