I am making great use of both of your plugins and look forward to your future releases.

I do have a question: Is there a way to make the “location” field clickable with a link to Google Maps with an entered address? I suppose this is a combination of your two current plugins.

Thanks for your time and your plugins.

    Hi elisefantasy-
Glad to hear you are having good luck with the plugins. Do you mind telling me the URL for your site?

I guess great minds think alike! I have been planning to allow you to select a location on the game schedule from those provided in the locations plugin, but I didn’t want to FORCE that. So it might get sticky and it’s on the (long) to-do list.

Right now, I guess you could use the link provided for the opponent field (new in 2.0) to link to the game location. I could certainly add another link for the game location but that would require A LOT of coffee to stay up late. (JK!)

Unfortunately, a couple of “undocumented features” in version 2.0 have been called to my attention. I plan to fix those this weekend. After that, I could put in the location links, OR I could start working on the Team Rosters plugin as planned. Which would be most valuable to you?

I like the idea of the locations being clickable indeed, but as it is indoor season for my soccer and that would mean only two diff locations, then I personally would see more value in the Team Roster Plugin. Just my two cents..

Fantastic Plugins! <– I think I might have mentioned that before.

Hi Mark (I posted previously under a different account name that was name of old site I worked on),

Although the map location would feature would be great, I would love to see the Team Rosters plugin developed. I truly am a fan of your plugins in so far that work perfectly for my purpose.

My site is live at: https://www.nmclippers.com

Any plans for a tournament plugin? I was surprised to find a lack of quality sports plugins for WordPress.

    Thanks again for your work.

Not sure what everyone is looking for the roster option to do, but if you look into the plugin “Attendance List” by 2Inspired it might be enough for some. I am trying to use it to enable the players of each team to login and let the team manager know who will make the game etc… All we need is each game to be able to link back to the post with that games information on it. So each game then would be a viewable post. Hope that helps some.

    John-
First, my intent is not to build something like “Attendance List”. Not going to happen.

I can create a ‘single’ view of each game. I could do it in a couple of ways: either as a single page/post view or as a shortcode.

But what I’m struggling with is why? The way I see it right now, if you click on a game (some link somewhere on a schedule) to go to a single page/post view of the game, all you would see is what is already on the schedule. There’s nothing else to see. So what purpose would that serve? Is your intent to combine it with the attendance list plugin? If so, then what you’d really want is a shortcode? Or would you want a single page/post view, so you could embed the Attendance List plugin in that?

    Thanks.

Hey Mark, that is exactly what I would like to do, use it with the attendance list short code. So yes I would just need a way to view each game as a single page or post. IS that possible?

Sure it’s possible. (Falls in the “not hard, just takes time I can’t seem to find” category.) I hope to have time to knock it out this weekend. I have about 4 things on the Game Locations list.

Thanks for helping me understand this “upgrade” and thanks for your patience.

    Perfect with map location link!

    Thanks again, looks great.

    Hi Mark-
I released version 2.1 today. The option to add a link to the location field (in both the table and the countdown timer) is in this version. So I’m marking this one as resolved.

    John-
I haven’t dropped the idea of a “single post” hook of some sort for each game so you can add the attendance list plugin. There are a couple of issues with doing that and I’m a bit stumped at the moment. However, I have asked a “WordPress guru” who has forgotten more about WordPress than I’ll ever know about this and we are kicking around a couple of options. So stay tuned. We can communicate further about it outside this particular forum item. (If you’d like you can open a new one summarizing where we are right now.)

And yes, sports fans, I’ve started the roster widget, got some good advice from the aforementioned WP guru, and I think it will be pretty cool!
