Pagination doesn't work on main page only i.e. (*/page/2)

I’m using WordPress 3.4.2 and realize that pagination on my front page is not working.
Loading metropochris.com/page/2 and subsequent pages (3,4,5…) just loads the first page and content again.
However, I notice that for categories the pagination works just fine…
metropochris.com/food/drinks/page/2Any suggestions on resolving?
