Ok am I crazy…or is it not very clear how to set this thing so it only shows a specific category. There is a mention of adding the GD Custom Taxonomies plugin, but then what?

Is there just a file that I can set the ID of the chosen category I need?

I don’t understand what has to be done once and if I do add that custom taxonomies plugin. What…do I create a taxonomy? Then create a category? I’m wondering if this is simple and I’m just missing something or if it’s just difficult and not explained clearly anywhere. If anyone can assist that’d be great. Thanks.

Never mind. I figured it out. Add a Taxonomy plugin, then when you look at the settings (dropdown arrow) next to the WordPress icon in the Manage section you will see the Filter by Taxonomy option, which basically lets you choose a Category…and some other cool stuff.

Can this be done with the free version of Slidedeck2 or only with one of the paid upgrades?

    Thanks

Hi Jason, this can indeed be done with the free version. The WordPress Posts source is identical between the versions.

Many thanks for the fast response. And thanks for the info. Great plug-in, by the way!

Still don’t get it. I want to exclude a type of post by ID, or tag or category. Is it possible?

    Hey shlomof,
I don’t believe you can exclude them; you can only include tags and categories.
