• Hello,
I have read quite a few articles about the migration process from blogger to wordpress. The migration has worked quite well for me I would say. I have still some doubts to make sure I am done with it:
When you type my old address https://www.barcelonelowcost.blogspot.com, there is a message (in spanish because I am based in Spain) that said this blog is not hosted anymore here and that you are going to be redirected. And when you click to confirm that you want to be redirected, it takes you to my new blog https://www.barcelonelowcost.com.
    Now my questions are:
Do i have to take care of the 301 redirect?
Is it possible to be redirected directly to the new domain without going through this page of blogger “this blog is nolonger hosted here…”?
Is it possible to change the message since the blog is written in french and my lectors (if any) may not understand?
When i set up the blogger blog, i did create a feedburner account for it. I created one with the new blog. So i suppose i do not have to redirect any feed, right? (i am getting so confused reading so many things).

one last question but maybe it goes with a new topic: when i type my new blog name in the google search toolbar, my blog does not show up on the results and I migrated a month ago or so. when i put my blog address in google address bar, my blog shows up fine and all the posts are fine.

Thank you again for your help.

    Cheers,

    Emmanuelle

No. blogger’s done it for you.

No, it’s what Blogger does when you redirect away from Blogger. You can’t edit that (blogger.com doesn’t let you.)

When i set up the blogger blog, i did create a feedburner account for it. I created one with the new blog. So i suppose i do not have to redirect any feed, right?

If you set up a feedburner account for the blogger.com site, you should be able to log into feedburner and simply change the URL within the settings for the feedburner. The feed will pull from the new (WP) site. You shouldn’t nee to create a whole new account – so no, there’s no redirect. Just change the feed URL in the settings for the old feed.

    Hello Shelly,
thanks a lot for your straight forward answer.

I made a mistake in taping: i did not create a feedburner account for the blogger blog so I have no work to do there. Well, I am almost done with the post migration process, good news!

    Thank you again.

    Hello Shelly,

I get back to you because I did the migration over a month ago and my WP blog does not show at all in the search results. For instance, I put in the Google toolbar “Barcelone low cost” and it does not show. it should, it’s my domain name! before, with blogger, doing this, I came almost first in the search result.
    What could be the reason?
    Thank you for your help.
    Cheers,
    Emmanuelle
