Trouble linking to most recent version of post

I am having some trouble getting hyperlinks within my site to work correctly after I’ve revised a post.

Specifically, I have a page with a table containing hyperlinks to a number of posts. Occasionally I need to revise these posts. When I do this in Live Writer, using the same title, the new post has the same title but is appended with -2. However, the hyperlink still points to the old version of the post.

Is there a way I can either overwrite the original post completely (without the -2 in it), or else automatically tell the hyperlinks to find the latest version of the post?
