Simple Facebook Connect SFC: oauth and login on post

    I installed SFC and successfully posted to facebook from my blog using my application settings. Then I logged out of facebook in the browser and SFC/facebook wants me to login before I can auto post.

    I thought the purpose of oauth is to make it possible for my application to publish from outside facebook to my timeline. I’m granting specific rights to my blog via my facebook app to publish on my behalf without my having to login to facebook every time I post to my blog?

    I have worked with a java social framework that worked this way, so wondering if I’m missing something? Can SFC post without the browser/session being logged into facebook?

    Once you logout, Facebook invalidates the token SFC is using. So, no, you can’t logout of Facebook.

    I was able to “publish_stream” to facebook when offline using another framework, but that was a year ago. Since then facebook has depreciated the “offline_access” permission as of October 3rd, 2012.     It seems the implication is that server apps cannot publish_stream on the user’s behalf. I suppose it makes sense for facebook to move in this direction so that people either use their apps or login with facebook to keep renewing the short-lived user access_token.

    I’m not sure how social media management tools that offer scheduled content posts can continue to do so.

    The usability for SFC sucks because I have to login to facebook to publish my blog post to facebook, which I was trying to avoid by using WP and SFC in the first place.
