[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Gallery View with links to albums

I am looking to customize the NextGen Gallery a bit. I like the thumbnail view of the images, but I need a way to list the galleries in text only below the view of thumbnails. When you click on a new album it needs to repopulate with the new images from that album.
Does anyone know how to do this?
