[Plugin: dbview] Shortcode in widget?

Thank you for your great plugin!

The shortcode works excellent when I add it to a post or page. I would also like to add it to the sidebar using a widget. When I add the shortcode to a text widget, the shortcode is not executed (I just see the shortcode itself).
Is there any way dbview performing queries for the sidebar, using a widget?
