From a first look at this, it seems that the FB debugger expects to find a valid Facebook profile ID in the ‘article:author’ metatag.

The resolution of this issue would involve storing the author’s FB profile ID in his WordPress user profile. I think this is beyond the scope of the Add-Meta-Tags plugin.

If there is another actively developed plugin that adds support for extra fields in the WordPress user profile, I’d consider adding it as a requirement for the ‘article:author’ metatag functionality.

So, there are two reasonable options now:

1. Drop support for the ‘article:author’ metatag.
2. Continue adding the author’s name in it, despite it breaking the FB guidelines.

Found out that wordpress makes it easy to add extra contact info for the users. This will most probably be fixed in 2.2.1 or 2.2.2.
