• Like many others, this plugin is your link to a service you have to pay for…..at least if you want to make use of the basic services as it’s described here, such as receiving payments, and accepting more than 3 appointments a month…. i have no problem whatsoever with charging for the service, but be upfront about it and don’t pretend that you’re giving it away for free, when really, the plugin is simply BookFresh’s way of advertising to the WordPress community.

  • Hi Kingesly,
Thank you for trying BookFresh and giving us feedback about our plugin. As you can see we have just launched the plugin and we are excited about working with the WordPress community. We will modify the language in our description to make it clear we offer many solutions — all of which are available to the WordPress community. Our Free plan comes with up to three customer booked appointments per month and an unlimited number of merchant booked appointments.

Unfortunately the free one is useless for my needs and I cannot get the client to pay monthly. I’m still looking for an alternative myself.

I have spent the most money on plugins that give me a ton of stuff in the free version, then offer some interesting but not totally necessary features in the paid version.

It creates such goodwill that many people will purchase the higher version just because of the awesomeness of what is offered in the free version.

If you want to see a shining example of this, check out the s2Member plugin – a membership plugin that is so amazingly full of features in the free version that I just purchased the pro version then the developer version not based on a specific need, but on the goodwill they generated. And they are making money hand over fist because of it.

More developers could be getting more money adopting this approach.

I won’t even test a plugin where there seems to be a bait-and-switch approach to putting the code out there.

im happy to pay the fee but it’s just ugly. doesnt look at all as it does on screenshots. looks pieced together and the GUI is awful! used one of the sidebar widgets and when you click on it, it looks like unfinished code work. very disappointed because i spent about an HOUR setting it all up, thinking it would look as good as the rest of my website. WRONG. maybe take down the screenshots that were obviously doctored and put up the reality of the plugin. it will save really busy business owners like myself some time.
