content file, but I read one of the resources material that during installation of WP-files, that I should make sure that directory is empty, so I would not overwriting anything. i have tried several times to instal WP-files using Filezilla and each time I experienced files overwriting. Can you please advice me on the action I should take if files is overwriting?

WordPress stores your site’s content in your database – not within any files.

The only files that you should not be uploading are in /wp-content/uploads/. Everything else is fine.

Exactly what files are you having problems over-writing? Are these tempaltes in your theme, or images that you’ve uploaded or something else that we can’t guess?

The simplest solution is to back everything up, every time you work on your website. Back up all of your server files and your database. That way, you’re not reliant on anything to save you. If something goes wrong and a file gets overwritten, you can always replace it.
