• I think I’ve seen somewhere some helpful tools to check a site/wordpress blog integrity. It’s supposed to look for missed links, and some other things also.
Anyone knows about a tool like that one ?
Everything seems to be working just fine, but as I find some 404’s and some other codes in my stats, and I have not too much experience, I would like to check somehow if everything is ok on my blog.

Thanks a lot.

If you’re just looking for links which lead to 404s, try this tool: https://validator.w3.org/checklink

Would you please be more specific about “some other things” and “some other codes”?

Thanks Marc. ??

Now I’m worried about something.
The validator at https://validator.w3.org/checklink is doing this:
https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=referer
What to do: The link was not checked due to robots exclusion rules. Check the link manually.

Response status code: (N/A)
Response message: Forbidden by robots.txt
Line: 149 Checked 1 document
I don’t even have a robots.txt file ??

Anyone have a clue about this ?

That means that the link checker could not investigate the link to validator.w3.org because the robots.txt file at validator.w3.org denies robot access. It has nothing to do with your blog.

Thanks a lot macmanx. Now I can sleep, I was about to call my hosting company and insult them for hiding robots.txt files and prevent the SE’s from index me! LOL

Now I’m bothering you one more time Macmanx. Sorry ??
I’ve noticed that the validator is giving me an error on each entry that has zero comments. eg:

———
What to do: There are broken fragments which must be fixed.

Response status code: 200
Response message: OK
Lines: 51, 59
Broken fragments and their line numbers: They need to be fixed!
———

If you have a clue about this last one, I will stop bothering for awhile.
Many thanks again.

Eh, don’t worry about that. I’m honestly not sure what it means, and I have seen that error when using the link validator on many sites (not just WordPress blogs). I seem to remember someone saying that it was a bug or some out-of-date rule in the validator, but I’m not sure.

Xenu:

Be sure to exclude your own url or it will check all your posts too which can take ages.

Or a Firefox extension:
