Reinstall or is there a fix.
-
I installed the 3.4.2 update a couple of days ago. Today when I tried to login and write a new post I got the same blank screen a lot of people have posted about. I couldn’t get to any pages on my dashboard of my blog.
Reading the forum it seemed like the first thing to do was to delete or disable the plugins. I did so by going to my Yahoo small business file manager panel, contents-plugins folder and manually deleted everything in it.
Bad move so it seems as now my site, davidmorrisonpike.com won’t load. I had my blog as my homepage and something in the plugins folder was necessary to make it load.
I would like advice on if it is easier to de-activate the blog and do a new install. I did a back-up of the blog just before my 3.4.2 update. The back-up seemed too fast to actually have much data in it. The file is 1.49 MB. My blog consists of thousands of pictures of antiques. I understand that the images are probably stored somewhere in my site directory but I don’t want to inadvertently delete them if I do a new install.
My goal is to get back to where I can post blog posts. Does anyone have advice on if a new install is the best path?
Thank you,
Dave
