• After upgrading to 1.5.5, I think, the plugin seems to have a bug. In the Admin Panel, when I click on Events or Events>All Events, I get a message saying that there was no data recieved. All the other admin links work: Add New, Categories, Tags, Venues, and Calendar View. The plugin worked great before.

The client was using the site and saw upgrade and just clicked. I’m not sure what she did, but she said after the upgrade, it wasn’t working.

If I could please get some direction, that would be great.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

PS On a side note, does exporting the ICS also export venues? We have a ton in there and I don’t want to break them and have the client redo all their hard work. I would like to try uninstall the plugin and all the setting.

Please, any help would be great.
    Thanks.

  • Hi Kevin,
Could you post the exact message, ‘No data received’ does not sound like a WordPress error.

No the ICS does not export venues, since the data is not supported by ICAL. A ‘back-up’ feature is expected in 1.6. You could however, use an FTP client to replace 1.5.5 with 1.4.2 to see if that resolves the problem for you – but I’ve not had this bug report from anyone else so there is no guarantee that will work.

    Hi Stephen,
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I got a completely blank page. It says:
    No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.

The error is produced by the browser, but it didn’t start occuring until it was updated.

Do you know where I could find the older version of the plugin? I think that should solve it, but I’m unable to find it.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Well, after deactivating all other plugins, the page will show up with nothing there. I guess that’s progress. Any idea why this wouldn’t work? I’m going to keep playing with it, and I’ll comment back, if I figure anything out.

Yeah, so after some more messing around, with both version 1.5.5 and version 1.4.2(I found it), I’m able to get the page to load when clicking on “All Events”, but the page is completely blank. I’m getting this as an error in the console:
    GET https://www.drinkkarmalife.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=event edit.php:1

Yeah, I’m allowed to sort through the options, “All” “Published” “Drafts” “Trash” now. However, the only one that displays all the events is the Trash category. However, I am able to search through “Published” to find certain events.

    Hi Kevin,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you – I’ve been away recently.

Have you put WordPress into debug mode? Seems there might be trouble getting information from the database…

    Hey Kevin!

I was running a wordpress install locally on MAMP, and received this error. After banging my head on a wall trying wordpress-central solutions, I went to the MAMP landing page, in preparation to restart the server software, and saw the same error.

This tells me that it’s likely server related. If you can comfortably restart the server, give that a go – I bet it would fix it!

If you figured out a different solution, I’d be very curious to find out what you did!
