    I’m a newbie and have created my first child theme, however my menu has now changed and I can’t seem to correct it.
    Originally my menu items were neatly side by side in the order that i wanted them.They are now displaying in the wrong order and over two lines.Please can anybody help.My website

  • That is happening because you have a lot of items in the menu, thus they are wrapping to a new line. You can use less links or reduce the font size.

    They did fit quite neatly until I added the child theme see here original parent theme

    Check the child theme css properly. Did you modify style.css? Maybe you used a different font, or different font size or different spacing between the links.

    No I haven’t modified the style.css.The only thing that I have done different is added something in the footer.Strange

    Can you make another instance of the same WordPress install (in a different sub folder or so) and publish them both?

    Like that it would be easier to troubleshoot using tools such as the developer tools in Google Chrome etc.
