my blog now goes into a blank page

  • Hi

    Yesterday, I tried to copy the google analytics code into my blog admin but I didn’t have the right permissions to do it
    Si I tried to change them via my ftp
    I selected all the files from my ‘blog’ folder and I changed the permissions
    Since, my blog is not working anymore (I have a blank page instead) or the admin doesn’t seem to contain everything (my widget are gone for example)
    Can somebody help me please?

    Its always a good idea to post the link to your site so we can see.
    Also, you didnt mention what the permissions were before and after changing them. The recommended is 644 for files and 755 for folders. Reset them to that and see.

    You are learning its always a good idea to back up files and DB before messing with your site files and changing anything. We advice you to even backup when upgrading a plugin. So keep that in mind for the future.

    If you have a backup of DB and files just restore the backup. You can Google on how to backup WordPress.

    The minute you hit a wall in WordPress, like you did when you didnt have permissions to add the analytic code, you should Google it to see what the solution is, as someone has had it before I assure you.
