What server software are you using?

Wamp server

You need to edit your Apache http.conf file and change #LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so to LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so.

I was happy to find out ther was a way to change permalinks without loosing the pagess.

now if I could find out how to migrate from local machine to a remote host without having my whole remote database point to my local machine I would be ecstatic
