deleted post still shows in RSS

  • I deleted a post from my blog, but it still shows in the RSS feed. How do I stop the post from showing in the RSS/Atom reader.

    so it seems we are not alone! but as to if it will / can be fixed.. it is not clear to me at least at the moment..

    I’m guessing I need to edit an Atom feed XML file and take out the deleted post. Next question is if there is such a file and where it’s located. Hmmm…

    Once you publish – and if you ping – the content of your posts may be copied into any number of aggregators. If I was taking your site feed and happened to grab the feed after you had published but before you had deleted then you deleting the post makes no difference – I already have it. Not that I would do anything with it of course – I could just read it.

    So when that button says “Publish” that is exactly what it means …

    thanks podz! I’ve been searching for some clear explanation on how the RSS publishing works. Now I know.
