making Gridspace theme wider

  • I’m using the graphpaperpress theme Gridspace, which shows photos @ 800 px wide. I would like to change that so I can display 1000 px wide.
    I’m new to css and php, can anyone suggest where I need to make changes to the theme to make it wider? I will be using a child theme to do this, but have no idea how to proceed.
    The answer from graphpaperpress was basically “figure it out yourself”. Not very helpful.

    I can see from using firebug that there are a number of changes that need to be made, and I’m not sure it can all be done with css. Any thoughts or suggestions?
