• Hello,

    WordPress version: Latest
    WordPress SEO version: Latest

Upon updating Yoast SEO to the latest version (1.27), my wp-admin screen became blank. I turned debug on WordPress, and it gives me this fatal error:

Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /var/www/vhosts/XXXXX/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/admin/class-admin.php on line 341

I tried updating it on my test server, and the same thing happened.

This type of error never happened to me with earlier Yoast SEO updates.

Any help please? My admin panel is blocked!!!

    Alright,

So I found more info on this bug. I deleted the plugin, and then re-added it to replicate the bug. At first, upon update, everything works.

Then, when I go into the SEO settings, I get the warning that my header file already contains a meta description and that it may interfere with the plugin. Yes, I do indeed have a meta description in my theme’s header.php file. I inserted it there manually to control the description based on the language of the page (with WPML’s if (ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == ‘XX’)

After looking at that warning message, I clicked on the Titles & Metas settings page, and this is when my admin panel crashed.

I downgraded Yoast SEO to 1.25, and everything works fine now.
