[Plugin: The Events Calendar Category Colors] Latest update broke my site

I have fixed the “broken site” problem. May I roll back to ver 1.4.2? This ver 1.4.3 tries to make my entire calendar the color of the first event of the month, rather than just make the event title that color. And all events in the “upcoming” widget are all solid colors rather than just the title as it was before. As a temporary solution I have un-done all the background colors and moved them to border colors. You can see however that it’s still trying to color the whole calendar. If I can just roll back to 1.4.2 somehow until this gets sorted out, I’d appreciate it.

Tom, if you go to the Development tab of the plugin you should be able to download any version of the plugin.

It might be easier if we move the discussion regarding coloring to this forum and off of the Modern Tribe forum as they are not responsible for this plugin. ??

BTW, what happened with your site being “broken” and this fatal error?

Andy, I figured out in my theme that I needed to set the “default template” to no sidebars since that was was it was going to use for every page that didn’t specify something different. Then I set every other page to use the “1 right sidebar” template. Things look the way they should now with the category colors since the ECP template handles this very nicely.

The “site broken” I fixed by deleting line 59 in the-events-calendar-category-colors.php, getting back into my backend and restoring the EC plugin which I had inadvertently deactivated when I was trying to deactivate your category colors plugin.

I think with the changes I just made that I’m happy with the calendar using category colors. What do you think? https://www.attunementpractitioners.org/events

Tom, I think the site looks good.

I also realize what happened. The code you deleted is there to prevent the user from installing the plugin if TEC is not active. It seems the same code totally borks the system if you activate both plugins and then deactivate TEC. I’ll have to see how to fix that.

Latest update to 1.4.4 will no longer deactivate the plugin only show a warning that TEC needs to be active for this plugin to work. That should solve the ‘site broken’ issue.

Definitely, I never even realized it. Now I’ve updated all my other plugins so they play nice. ??
