[Theme: zeePersonal] Search not working with custom html homepage

  • Hi,
    I really hope you can help with this, I have installed ZeePersonal on a WP blog (codifi.info/blog/) but we have now a custom index.html file that overwrites the homepage (codifi.info). Everything works fine except for the search, which displays the html homepage (with the correct url though, sth like https://www.codifi.info/?s=something).
    Any idea? I found other posts that referenced files wp-include/general-template.php or weird redirects in the code, but was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for this theme!

    Have you hidden the search on the Home page? I can’t see it to test.

    There’s no search on the Home Page because the home page is a HTML file, not part of the WP theme! You have to try the search in any page of the blog, like
    codifi.info/blog/ or codifi.info/training/.

    Any idea about this?
    It generates the url correctly (codifi.info/?s=something) but it displays the static home page instead of the query result in a blog page.
    I can successfully run a search within a category or tag by manually typing the prefix in the url

    https://www.codifi.info/training/?s=something (CATEGORY)
    https://www.codifi.info/tag/archaeology/?s=something (TAG)

    but of course the results are limited.
    If I try under /blog/, which displays all posts, then I do get the right selection of posts, but no header “Search results for …” and it still displays the slider ??

    Hope it’s clearer now… I found more threads about this but they ended up having to substitute stuff in search.php that’s just not there for me!
