How to show categories in posts?

My current theme doesn’t have whatever category each post is in. Does anyone know / have a code that would show the categories a post is under and also the categories linking to its respective category.

example. a post is posted under “news” and “sports”. In this post I have the title, the date, and the comments. I also would like to also show the categories the post is under. So if the post is under news / sports I would like it to say “Under News (link to news) and Sports (link to sports)”.

Any help would really be appreciated! ??
