  • Using an FTP tool such a FileZilla or your host provied File Manager rename the plugin folder in /wp-content/plugins/to old-plugin_folder_name. Access site.

seacoast web design, i deleted the wpg3 from my control panel and i can login to wp again, thanks for your help.

Glad to help – to follow up ensure plugins are ‘in English’ worth a sh**’ most are not!

I don’t think this particular plugin ever got beyond “Alpha” status in its development. The information on the plugin page indicates:

    Requires: 3.1 or higher
    Compatible up to: 3.1.4
    Last Updated: 2010-12-3

    …the readme.txt states:

    Tested up to: 3.1

The first sentence in the plugin description states:

Alpha State development Version of WordPress Plugin connecting Gallery3 and WordPress3+ maintaining compatibility to WPG2.

I think it might be safe(r) to say, that when installing plugins, one should read and be aware of the age, development status and compatibility issues that might exist. The compatibility feedback and plugin data on each plugin download page can be a big help in the decision to try a plugin or not. That’s not to say an older plugin won’t still work, it simply means that sometimes, you need to be prepared for what happens with those that don’t. This just looks like one of those cases.

Good advice, CJ…If you MUST use a plugin, do so in a test environment…
