Crop Image Tool Greyed Out; Strange Message

  • I am using Presswork-Child theme.
    I want to crop some photos (through Edit Image), but when I drag my mouse across the image, is just temporarily greys and moves the image rather than cropping. The crop logo is greyed out. When I try to flip the photo, I receive the message ‘Could not load the preview image. Please reload the page and try again.’ Finally, after fooling around for a couple seconds, the photo turns into a little picture logo every time.
    I had been going into the functions.php of Presswork a bit to try and make sticky posts display the whole post rather than the excerpt/summary. I don’t think that I made or saved any changes, though, so I’m not sure what’s happening.

  • same for me. I’ve read a lot about errors in functions.php, but disabled all downloaded themes and the error persists

    UPDATE: I tried on a different computer and the CROP TOOL WORKS! So, not sure if this has something to do with the Child Theme being on the Filezilla FTP on my laptop (but not on the other computer)?
